The general rules section applies to each and every competitor, mechanic, and/or pit personnel. Some items, obviously, do not apply to each mentioned class. You can easily determine which rules do not apply to you (if any). You are expected to know the rules! Ignorance will not be tolerated as an excuse.
"THE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FOR THE ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RACING EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS. THESE RULES SHALL GOVERN THE CONDITION OF ALL MIDWAY SPEEDWAY EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL MIDWAY SPEEDWAY COMPETITORS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT AND IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH TO PARTICIPANTS, SPECTATORS, OR OTHERS."
The race director/ or Flagman shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
BEHAVIOR CONDUCT ::
Any fighting before, during, or after a racing event On the Midway Speedway Grounds will subject the offender, and the car he is associated with, to suspension, fine, or both, depending upon the seriousness of the incident and the decision of the officials is final.
Absolutely no one is allowed in the scorer's booth other than the officials or invited guests.
We will not tolerate any profane language in front of the race fans, officials or management. Be clean and look respectable. At any time the management feels that your dress, appearance, action, or conduct are not in the interests of the MIDWAY SPEEDWAY, you must leave the grounds and a suspension may be awarded.
No driver may get out of his car on the track or apron to argue or discuss a race situation with the flagman or officials. Violations of this rule may result in disqualification for the rest of the night’s events, or suspension may be awarded if deemed necessary by the officials.
When in the pit area, maintain a constant watch for your own protection.
Anyone speeding through the pit area will be subject to a fine and/or suspension depending upon the seriousness of the incident.
Every competitor will be expected to participate in every event in which he is assigned if it is at all possible. If a racer refuses to participate in a race because of a disagreement with the length, type, pay, or style of a race, he will be subject to suspension.
No alcoholic beverages consumed in the pits until the last race of the evening is completed. Anyone may be tested at any time.
GENERAL POLICY
Any disagreement over technical questions or operations will be resolved by racing officials and the Midway Management Team. When their decision is rendered, such decision is final and binding. Management and officials will establish the length, frequency, finishing positions, and administration of all events and programs, and their decision will be final.
PARTICIPANT'S INSURANCE
Available upon request is a certificate of insurance that covers everyone signed in at the pit gate. Call us or discuss any aspect of the insurance at any time. You and your crewmembers are covered with as broad insurance benefits as racers in any major U.S. racing association. If any questions or problems come up about insurance, contact MIDWAY SPEEDWAY Management Team and we will get you an answer ASAP.
LIABILITY
Every driver must inspect the racing surface and the racetrack to learn of any defects, obstructions, or anything that, in his opinion, is unsafe, and he should report any such conditions to the officials or management. Any driver entering any racing event is considered to have inspected the track with all conditions satisfactory to him ... if not, HE SHOULD NOT RACE! This further indicates that he is aware that auto racing involves risks, and he assumes these risks with full awareness and knowledge. Midway Speedway and Midway Speedway Management assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of your equipment, vehicles, or any parts, by any means whatsoever.
MIDWAY SPEEDWAY TRACK PROCEDURE
1. A guaranteed purse will be paid all season.
2. All Times for each event will be posted . Once drivers Meeting starts , the pill draw will close . Any Late Arivals will be tagged to the tail of heat race .
3. Under a yellow/Checkered situation , the race ends on last completed lap results . If a Judgement call is made , the driver or drivers at fault goes tail end of the lead lap cars and the others involved all get their positions back including the Leader. If Leader is taken out after white flag is displayed and thier past halfway down backsteretch , he will be declared the winner!
4. The first five finishers in the "A" Feature and all feature qualifying positions from heats and consolation races will pull directly onto the scale to be weighed, and then into inspection area - if directed - to finish the inspection process. NO EXCEPTIONS! All positions will be moved accordingly if there are any disqualifications. Failure to weigh immediately will result in disqualification.
5. Driver changes must be reported to an Official in the pit building before lining up for your race. Points are assigned to the driver, not to the car. Points are awarded to the driver who starts the car in a race.
6. At the discretion of the flagman or other race official, any driver jumping positions on starts or restarts, will be penalized 2 spots from thier current running order on a double or single file starts .
7. You must line up for each feature event and take the green flag to qualify for feature money. You must start a consi race to qualify for non-qualifiers money.
8. All races will be completely lined up in the pit chute, before the two lap to go signal is given in the previous race. If you are not in position you go to the rear.
9. Racing penalties (on track or in pits) can be imposed by the flagman, chief steward or other race official. For all other rules infractions or misconduct within the Midway Speedway grounds/property , penalties may be imposed by any race official on the driver and/or his crew and/or his car. Penalties may be one or more of the following:
A. Verbal warning
B. Requiring the driver to start at the rear of the field
C. Suspension from competition for one week or more
D. Temporary or permanent expulsion from the pit area and/or grounds
E. Fined (example: $50 minimum for speeding in the pits)
F. Loss of prize money and/or points, in which case the payoff will be paid as though penalized driver had not participated.
DRIVER CHANGES ::
**There is allowed to be drivers changes at any time during the nights racing action . You must inform the pit Official of the change and remember , the driver that starts the race behind the wheel , will be the driver awarded the points . The car with the change must start on the tail . (If a driver does not make his/her feature event , that driver still can drive another car in the Feature event of the same class if the change is made public. that driver behind the wheel will get the track points..)
NOTE: IF you don’t pick up your money the night you race you will forfeit any winnings for that event.
Everyone going into the pit area will sign his or her own pit release. Signing for others will not be allowed.
